Turn Prohibited Signs

'Turn Prohibited' signs, as defined by the MUTCD, are signs that indicate where turning is not permitted. These signs typically display a red circle with a red diagonal line over a black symbol of the prohibited maneuver, following international standards for 'No' or 'Do not' signs. For example, a 'No Left Turn' sign shows a left-pointing arrow inside the circle and slash symbol. Similarly, a 'No Right Turn' sign depicts a right-pointing arrow within the same symbol. There's also a 'No U-Turn' sign that shows a U-turning arrow with the prohibition symbol. These signs are used at intersections or entries to roads where certain turning movements are unsafe or have been determined to cause unnecessary congestion or disruption to the flow of traffic. The goal is to improve traffic safety and efficiency by clearly communicating to drivers what maneuvers they should avoid.
