Soft Shoulder Signs

The Soft Shoulder Sign, also known as MUTCD W8-4, is used to warn drivers that the shoulder of the road is unpaved, unstable, or otherwise soft and may not be able to support the weight of a vehicle. What is the road shoulder? The road shoulder is the area of the road that runs alongside the paved portion of the road and is intended for use in emergencies or as a stopping area for vehicles.
Soft Shoulder Sign Details:
- Sign is manufactured on durable rust-proof .080" aluminum
- Pre-punched 3/8" mounting holes in top and bottom for easy installation.
- Meets M.U.T.C.D. specifications for highway use.
