The purpose of the Cattle Sign MUTCD W11-4 is to warn drivers of the potential presence of livestock on or near the road and to encourage them to reduce their speed and exercise caution in order to avoid collisions with these animals; these signs are particularly common in rural areas with open grazing lands or areas where livestock are commonly transported.
