Powder-coated steel provides rust resistance, improves durability, and extends the useful lifetime of the sign stand. Crash tested and approved by NCHRP-350 and MASH, our sign stands minimize potential damage to impacting vehicles.

Our 38 lb. dual spring sign stand provides an 18 inch bottom height for 48x48 signs. Its dual spring design and extra large footprint contribute to its wind resistance. Accommodates up to three warning flags. Ships with both rigid mounting brackets for aluminum or plywood signs, and roll-up mounting bracket for our roll-up signs.

All four 43-inch legs are independently adjustable to adapt to uneven terrain. Each quick-release leg can be adjusted into one of two standing positions. With one step onto the release levers at the base of the sign stand, two legs will drop down to lay flat to the ground. When this action is repeated on the opposite side of the sign stand and all four legs are released, slightly lifting the sign stand will allow the legs to move into a secured position with a small click. By stepping onto one release lever and slightly lifting the sign stand once more, the corresponding leg will drop further and will be able to prop up one side of the sign stand to a taller height.

Specifications

Each shipment of one dual spring sign stand and one inner mast weighs 38 pounds. The included 46-inch inner mast inserts into the outer mast attached to the sign stand, can be adjusted into two positions, and is secured with a silver detent button. When the inner mast is attached, the total height for the sign stand is 89 inches. Sign stands measure 47 inches tall for storage when the inner mast is removed.

How to Setup the Stand:

Setup starts from the sign in standing position, with the rubber feet facing upward. We recommend keeping a wide area around the sign clear for safety reasons.

Releasing the sign stand legs
1: Locate one pair of brass levers at the base of the sign stand.
2: Step on both levers to immediately release two legs. One lever releases the first leg, and the other lever releases the second leg.
3: Slightly lift the sign stand so that the legs click into place.
4: Repeat Steps 1-3 to release the sign stand legs on the opposite side of the sign stand.

To fold legs and store the sign stand, step on one lever and lift the corresponding leg into an upright position. When you hear a clicking sound, the leg has been secured into its place.

Heavy duty springs deflect windload so that this sign stand can be used in both heavy traffic and very windy weather conditions. The springs will flex back and forth so that the sign stand will not tip over.

Dual spring sign stands are designed to accommodate 36-inch and 48-inch diamond-shaped rigid signs and roll-up signs. Sign stands provide an 18-inch bottom height for 48-inch metal signs, and the bottom height for 36-inch and 48-inch roll-up signs can be adjusted between 18-inches and 60-inches.

Each RU-5000 dual spring sign stand purchase includes your choice of mounting hardware: two rigid brackets, one roll-up bracket, or all three brackets. Each style of mounting hardware can be used separately or in a dual configuration to quickly switch between mounting rigid signs and roll-up signs. The two rigid brackets are for one rigid sign, and one roll-up bracket is for one roll-up sign. Additionally, the pre-installed hardware at the top of the inner mast accommodates up to three warning flags, which can improve construction sign visibility to better notify passing drivers.
