This Type II A-frame barricade is equipped with two retroreflective horizontal rails bearing alternating orange and white diagonal stripes made from High Intensity Prismatic (HIP) sheeting. Supported by a collapsible white-painted steel frame with a central gray metal brace, the dual-rail configuration provides increased visibility over the single-rail Type I. Built for moderate-complexity temporary traffic control zones, it offers reliable day and night conspicuity to alert and channel road users.

About Product

What is a Type II Barricade, and how is it used?

A Type II Barricade is a temporary traffic control (TTC) device placed to block access to work zones while allowing traffic to flow down the roadway. This barricade style has two orange and white striped retroreflective panels on each side.

Can I install a sign onto a barricade?

Yes, signs like the R9-9 Sidewalk Closed Sign can be attached between the two horizontal panels of the barricade.

How are these barricades and Type I Barricades used differently?

While the MUTCD recommends Type I Barricades only for local roads and streets, Type II Barricades can be placed on high-speed roads. This guidance is based on the additional retroreflective area the two panels provide.

How are panels connected to the steel legs?

3/4" rivets securely fasten panels onto the 14-gauge steel legs, providing a permanent connection.
