To begin using a base post, you must first dig a hole in the ground to accommodate its size. The hole should be deep enough to provide stability for the structure and account for the base post's dimensions, which is typically slightly wider than the top post. It is important to use gravel or concrete to secure the base post in the ground, ensuring it remains level and sturdy for the duration of its use. Once the base post is securely buried and the surrounding material has set, the top post, available in lengths of 6, 8, 10, 12, or 14 feet, can be inserted into the base post. The top post should slide down smoothly, fitting snugly within the base post. If desired, optional breakaway hardware can be used to attach the base post to the top post. This hardware not only ensures a strong connection between the two components but also allows for easier disassembly and replacement if necessary. Always follow the manufacturers recommendations for proper installation.
