Example Use:
At a busy intersection in the heart of the city, a Crosswalk push button sign is installed to prioritize pedestrian safety. When pedestrians approach the crosswalk and intend to cross the street, they press the button on the sign. Upon activation, the system communicates with the traffic light control mechanism, initiating a countdown. The vehicular traffic lights soon change to red, stopping the cars. Simultaneously, the pedestrian signal illuminates a walking figure, indicating it's safe to cross. This system ensures that the pedestrian has adequate time to traverse the street safely before the vehicular lights turn green again, thereby effectively reducing potential accidents or collisions between pedestrians and vehicles.
